How to Wrap a Beautiful Gift

How to Wrap a Beautiful Gift

Juliette Donatelli |

I don’t know about you, but every year I try to wrap the most beautiful gift under the tree.

A thoughtfully wrapped present can totally transform your gift into a holiday gift with meaning. It adds that extra sparkle of anticipation… “What’s under the tree?! What’s in this dreamy, perfect package?!”

The best part? It’s not hard to wrap something gorgeous. Whether it’s a handmade stocking stuffer, a sweet little keepsake ornament, or a Christmas heirloom that will be passed on for generations, we’ve got a few easy tips to help you wrap like a pro:

Make it fun!

Don’t stress about making it perfect—any bit of effort will make your gift feel extra special (we promise!). One of our favorite easy tricks? Add a little greenery! A sprig of eucalyptus or a few dried flowers from your garden gives your gift that touch of rustic holiday decorating magic. It looks beautiful on kraft paper and just as lovely on bright, festive wrap.

If you don't want to forage for your gifting decorations, we’ve got you covered! Just tuck some of our festive felt flora—like a felt Mistletoe or Holly —for a pop of charm. It’s an instant elevation and doubles as a sweet keepsake the recipient can treasure long after the wrapping paper’s gone.

Use colorful ribbon!

We love ribbons of all sorts. Satin, gold, gilded, eclectic yellow. It’s fun to add color and texture. We love the ribbons from Studio Carta they are from Italy, lush, voluptuous and you won’t regret the splurge. Most of the ribbon in our photoshoots are from Studio Carta (because we’re obsessed). We of course also love the basic velvet ribbons you can find at your local craft store.

DIY wrapping paper is our favorite.

We’re all about joyful wrapping over here—and this fun DIY tutorial from Artbarblog is a family favorite! It’s a great activity to do with the kids, and if you’re feeling a little extra, check out the more intricate wraps over at The Artful Parent for some serious inspiration.

We of course think that adding a handmade ornament to your wrapping is the most fun. We love the holiday cheer each hand made felt ornament brings. Simply use the string of any Craftspring Christmas ornament to tie around the bow of a gift, et voilà !

In the photo above we just used a white sharpie to draw some snow on a Kraft-paper wrapping, tied with brown twine. We think it’s a simple little touch. And it’s a great last-minute wrapping tip!

Make it a theme:

We’re big fans of going all in on a theme—because honestly, who doesn’t love a perfectly coordinated gift moment? Try pairing our Santa Dog wrapping paper with a matching Santa Dog holiday card for a gift that’s as joyful and cheeky as the pup himself.

Or do you want to make a splash? Match one of our ocean-themed handmade ornaments—like our felt Whale, Octopus, or Sea Turtle—with wrapping paper in ocean blues and a shimmering bow. Now that’s whimsical holiday décor at its cutest!

Now you can show off your work, and ring in the season of joy! Put your wrapped ornaments under the tree, or in a gifting pile early. You’ve wrapped beautiful gifts, so now you get to make them shine!

Hope you enjoy wrapping your gifts!! And that the gifting day is full of beauty.
